French Embassy in Bangkok

Embassy of France in Bangkok, Thailand

Overview

The French Embassy in Bangkok (Ambassade de France en Thaïlande) is France's diplomatic mission to the Kingdom of Thailand, located on Charoenkrung Road in the historic Bangrak district — one of Bangkok's oldest diplomatic quarters on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. France and Thailand share a relationship shaped by historical ties dating to the Ayutthaya period, when French envoys first arrived at the Siamese court in the 17th century. Today the embassy serves a large French community in Thailand and manages bilateral relations in trade, culture, education, and development. France also maintains honorary consular agencies in Khon Kaen (covering the Isan region) and Prachuap Khiri Khan (covering Hua Hin and the upper Gulf coast).
