Overview
The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Mexico City manages one of China's most important bilateral relationships in Latin America. Mexico is China's second-largest trading partner in the region and China is Mexico's second-largest trading partner globally. The relationship spans manufacturing (maquiladora supply chains in northern Mexico source heavily from China), infrastructure investment, energy cooperation and a growing cultural exchange programme. The embassy is supported by a Consulate General in Tijuana covering the northern border states. The Chinese Visa Application Service Centre (CVASC) in Mexico City handles the bulk of visa processing.
