Alliance Française
Alliance Française is the worldwide French-language and Francophone-culture network founded in Paris in 1883. Each branch is an independent local non-profit operating under the Fondation des Alliances Françaises charter, which keeps the network rooted in local life: the Madrid, Sydney and Bangkok Alliances are run by their own boards and staff, with shared standards on French teaching, exam delivery and cultural programming.
What it does
A typical Alliance Française branch offers French courses for adults and young learners from beginner to advanced (A1–C2), DELF and DALF examination sessions for official French-language certification, a French-language médiathèque or library, and a public cultural programme that includes film screenings, exhibitions, talks and partnerships with local Francophone associations. For visa and migration audiences, the most practical services are French courses, DELF/DALF exam dates and the local point of contact for Campus France and study-in-France queries.
