Guatemalan Embassy in Jerusalem

Embassy of Guatemala in Jerusalem, Israel

Overview

Guatemala was one of the first countries to move its embassy to Jerusalem in 2018, reflecting the historically close Guatemala-Israel relationship that dates to Israel's founding — Guatemala's UN ambassador Jorge Garcia Granados played a key role in the 1947 UN partition vote. Israel is a significant partner in agricultural technology, water management, security cooperation, and defense. Israeli drip irrigation and greenhouse technology has been adopted in Guatemala's agricultural sector. The embassy coordinates bilateral cooperation in these technical areas and provides consular services.
