The Embassy of Mongolia in Washington DC represents Mongolia to the United States. The US-Mongolia relationship is a 'Third Neighbor' partnership — Mongolia considers the US a strategic partner alongside its geographic neighbors Russia and China. Cooperation spans mining and natural resources, defence, education, and democratic governance. The embassy handles consular services and visa processing for the growing interest in Mongolian travel (the Naadam Festival, Gobi Desert, and nomadic culture attract adventurous American travellers).
