Overview
The Embassy of the Republic of Mozambique in Berlin represents Mozambique's interests in Germany and serves as the primary diplomatic contact for the bilateral relationship between the two countries. Germany is an important development cooperation partner for Mozambique, with engagement spanning sustainable economic development, governance, education, and peace-building — including support for disarmament of former combatants. The embassy serves Mozambican citizens in Germany and processes visa applications for German and other nationals traveling to Mozambique for tourism (Indian Ocean beaches, Bazaruto and Quirimbas archipelagos, wildlife in Gorongosa National Park), business (energy sector, infrastructure, agriculture), development work, and cultural exchange. Mozambique's Portuguese-speaking heritage and Indian Ocean coastline stretching over 2,500 km make it a distinctive destination in Southern Africa.
Service Area
The embassy covers the entire Federal Republic of Germany. Honorary consulates in Hamburg (for Hamburg state) and Munich (for Bavaria, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia) provide local support.
