New Zealand Embassy in Brasília

Embassy of New Zealand in Brasília, Brazil

Overview

The New Zealand Embassy in Brasília is New Zealand's anchor mission in Latin America's largest country and the most populous in the Southern Hemisphere alongside Brazil's role as one of the BRICS economies. Located in the Setor de Habitações Individuais Sul diplomatic quarter, the Embassy manages the bilateral relationship across trade and investment, primary-sector cooperation (where New Zealand and Brazil compete and cooperate as major agricultural exporters), education flows, and the multilateral file on climate, biodiversity and South-South cooperation.

Visa Services

The Embassy does not process visa applications for travel to New Zealand. Brazilian applicants apply through Immigration New Zealand's online portal and the global Visa Application Centre network.

Consular Services

The Embassy provides passport, citizenship, notarial and emergency consular services to New Zealand citizens in Brazil. Services run by appointment. The Embassy can also assist New Zealanders affected by emergencies — natural events, hospitalisation, loss of documents — and works with Brazilian authorities on serious cases.

Trade & Export Support

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) supports trade and investment between New Zealand and Brazil, with focus on agritech, food and beverage, education services, and screen and creative industries.

Cultural & Educational Programs

The Embassy supports New Zealand's cultural and education engagement with Brazil — including student-mobility programmes, agricultural-research cooperation, and ongoing engagement with Brazilian institutions on climate and biodiversity.
