New Zealand High Commission in New Delhi

Embassy of New Zealand in New Delhi, India

Overview

The New Zealand High Commission to India is located on Sir Edmund Hillary Marg in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi's diplomatic enclave — the road named after the New Zealand mountaineer whose 1953 Everest summit became a defining moment in the bilateral relationship. The High Commission is cross-accredited to Nepal and manages New Zealand's bilateral relationships with two of South Asia's most populous countries. Trade, education and people-to-people flows have grown substantially over the last two decades, supported by New Zealand Consulates-General in Chennai and Mumbai. The Indian-New Zealand diaspora is one of the fastest-growing communities in New Zealand.

Visa Services

The High Commission does not process visa applications for travel to New Zealand. Indian and Nepalese applicants apply through Immigration New Zealand's online portal and the global Visa Application Centre network.

Consular Services

The High Commission provides passport, citizenship, notarial and emergency consular services to New Zealand citizens in India and Nepal. Staff can witness affidavits, affirmations, statutory declarations and other documents for use under New Zealand law. Services run by appointment.

Trade & Export Support

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) operates offices in New Delhi and Mumbai, working closely with the High Commission on trade and investment promotion. Sectors of focus include education, food and beverage (particularly dairy and meat), tourism, screen and creative industries, and primary industries.

Cultural & Educational Programs

The High Commission supports the substantial flow of Indian students to New Zealand tertiary institutions, the bilateral cultural and education exchange programmes, and ongoing engagement with the Edmund Hillary legacy in Nepal — including supporting the Himalayan Trust's continuing work in the Khumbu region.
