Overview
The Consulate General of Peru in Hong Kong covers the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions. Hong Kong is one of the world's leading commodity trading hubs and a major financial centre — both directly relevant to Peru's export profile. Peruvian copper, zinc, gold and other minerals are traded on Hong Kong exchanges, and the territory serves as a distribution gateway for Peruvian agricultural products (quinoa, maca, coffee, fresh fruit) entering the greater China and Southeast Asian markets. The consulate also supports the Peruvian community working in Hong Kong's finance, trade and hospitality sectors.
Visa Services
The consulate processes visa applications for residents of Hong Kong and Macao travelling to Peru. Peru offers visa-free entry to holders of valid Schengen, US, Canadian, Australian or UK visas — a provision particularly relevant for the large number of Hong Kong residents holding BN(O) or other travel documents. Standard applications require a completed form, valid passport, photographs, proof of accommodation, return ticket and financial means.
Consular Services
The consulate provides passport renewal, document legalisation, notarial services, civil registration and emergency consular protection for Peruvian nationals in the Hong Kong and Macao SARs. The office handles powers of attorney, commercial documentation for trade and shipping, and judicial cooperation requests. Emergency consular line: +852 6468 6776.
Trade & Export Support
Hong Kong's commodity exchanges and re-export trade make it a key node for Peruvian minerals entering Asian supply chains. The territory's duty-free regime and deep financial infrastructure facilitate metals trading, trade finance and investment flows between Peru and the broader Asia-Pacific region. Peruvian exporters also use Hong Kong as a showcase market for premium agricultural products targeting affluent consumers in the SARs, mainland China and Southeast Asia.
Service Area
The consular district covers the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region.
