Overview
The British Embassy in Beirut is the contact point for Lebanese nationals applying for UK visas — visitor, student, work and family routes — submitted through the designated UK Visa Application Centre and decided by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). The Lebanese diaspora in the UK is substantial, with strong family-route and study-visa demand. The embassy also provides consular services for British nationals in Lebanon: emergency assistance, passport applications, notarial services, and support for those in difficulty. The embassy is located at the Embassy Complex on Serail Hill in Beirut Central District (PO Box 11-471). British leisure travel to Lebanon varies significantly with current conditions; cultural and historic highlights include the Roman ruins at Baalbek (UNESCO), the Phoenician harbour town of Byblos (UNESCO), the Cedar forests of the Chouf and Bsharri, the Jeita Grotto, and Beirut's restaurants and Mediterranean coastline. Appointments are required for in-person services; contact via the FCDO website. Check the UK government travel advice for Lebanon before travelling — advisories may apply at short notice.
